Internet for Beginners - downloaded applications

Expert: Scottgem - 3/11/2005

Question
Hi, I have recently downloaded the two browsers: Netscape 7.2 and Mozilla FireFox to my computer. My question is when I downloaded them from websites it asked where I wanted to save the applications (Netscape Setup, FireFox Setup). I did not know where and I just saved them on desktop so now I see the two icons on desktop. Is there any ideal places where I should save these browser applications?
I look forward to your advice on this!
Thanks.

Answer
The way I do it is to have a Download folder. I then download all apps to that folder. It really doesn't matter much where you download them to, though I would recommend not downloading to the desktop. It makes it harder to move them off the desktop.
