Question
Hi, What does "recovery console" used as an internet terminology?

Can you explain the meaning of the word by applyig to a real-situation?

Thanks.

Answer
This phrase, like many computer terms, can be devined by looking at the meanings of the words.

Recover
1 : to get back : REGAIN
2 a : to bring back to normal position or condition

Console
a combination of readouts or displays and an input device as a keyboard or switches) by which an operator can monitor and interact with a system (as a computer or dubber)

So a recovery console is probably a computer program or screen that controls the process of putting something back to its normal condition.

Note the 'probably'. This is not actually a common term. The only time I have encountered it is in repairing an Windows XP installation, not in respect to the Internet. In that instance, its exactly what I described.

In the future, if you need help understanding a word or phrase, its best to provide the context where you found it. Very often context can determine exactly the meaning.
