About Jimmy
Expertise
I can answer questions in most areas in relation to the internet. Internet Explorer, broadband ADSL & cable, downloading, uploading your website, Outlook email, security, bit torrent & other file sharing, spyware, adware, pop ups. If I don`t know the answer to your question I have access to people who do, so the next person who needs to know I will already have the answer. Apple Mac computers may be a different story.

Experience
I work for one of, (currently the) UK's largest broadband provider(s) dealing daily with every extreme case, when the technical support cant fix it & people want it cancelled it comes to me to fix it. Also spending the last 15 years working with PC's, a little more recently upgrading, building testing them. Web design & some home networking too.

Publications
My employer's weekly newsletter, as the first week in my role I had a 100% success rate rectifying internet & Broadband issues never before achieved by my predecessors.

Internet for Beginners - telephone interference

Expert: Jimmy - 6/3/2004

Question
Hi Jimmy,
I have had broadband for 1 month now and am enjoying it imensely.  The only problem is that some of the telephones in my house have either stopped working or have terrible interference on the line.  I do have filters in every bt socket.(which is 3 sockets).  Can you please shed any light as to why this is happening. The telephones were working perfectly well before we had broadband.
look forward to hearing from you
Gloria

Answer
If you are using cordless phones i have the same problem exactly, i assumed it was my phones, as the normal phone was fine, the best thing you could do is contact your telecomms provider & isp to clarify as there may be a fault on the line.
I will also look into this as i thought i was the only one

please leave feedback as its the only recognition i recieve for my time, many thanks for your question, Jimmy Ray
