hi, i just like to ask if it is possible to extract the product key of windows xp home edition/pro in the compact disc.

i lost the product key. im only using win98 and i am about to upgrade to xp. unfortunately when i am about to install it, i could not find the product key. that is why im asking your expertise if it is possible to get the product key in its cd. or is there other way to have a product key.
Answer The product key is on the CD case. I find it hard to understand how you can have the CD without the case. Bit if its a legal version you can contact Microsoft for assistance. If its not a legal version then its not a good idea to try installing it since you won't be able to update it.
