Question
Dear Sir,
I have a question about to get a domain name on internet, I knew there are so many company help us to register a domain name, what I want to ask is that if the company go down, what can I do? I think is there any organization which is the top management of the domain name(for example .com) in the internet, I just want to buy a domain name with the guarantee.

Answer
I Felix...
You should not worry too much. I presume you need to register .aero, .biz, .com, .coop, .info, .museum, .name, .net, .org, or .pro name, so just go to the site of Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) http://www.internic.net/ and find out if the registar is accredited by them. There is a list here:
http://www.internic.net/regist.html
If the company you choose go down you remain the owner of the domain so no worries...
Let me know if you need more help..
Ciao
G
