Question
i want to start a website with features that are similar to myspace (user accounts, users have their own login name and password, and personal webpage, pictures, and video) but I am confused about hosting.  Should I use a shared, virtual, or dedicated hosting package?  Also, who are reputable hosting companies with quality service?

Answer
Hell Damarcus

In my experience is does not matter what the hosting package offers as long as you are not required to display advertising or branded content for others on your site.

Your choice of packages to build your website will determine the exact nature of the hosting required, i.e. if your website needs PHP and MySQL then you should ensure that these facilities are available as part of the hosting package.

There are so many hosting providers out there that it would be impossible to single out a few above the others as regards reliability. Perhaps you should do some research, check out the awards for web hosting and read some industry magazines to get more info.

Hope that helps

Regards
Alexander
