Internet Media - How to calculate cost for Banner Ad

Expert: Emmett Smith - 10/20/2007

Question
How we can calculate a banner Ad rate for a Site as per number of visitor?
We have launch a Hindi site http://www.hindimedia.in/ and 3,23,553 pages have been viewed with in five month on this site. So how V can analyze the AD Rate.
We have 38468 Total visits and 26804 Unique Visitors. WE have recd 2402526 Hits.

Answer
It's not really a calculation. It's what the market will pay.

I can't read your language but your site appears to be specialized targeting a select audience. Sites like this can usually charge more for banner displays of appropriate banners. The click rate on the banner will depend mostly on the banner design. I would expect the click rate to be higher than on non-specialized sites.

So, if you are going to show a banner almost 800 times a day, I would think that the click rate will be at least 2% but the conversion will be much higher because of the interest level..  I would think that this would be worth $1 per day. You can only try a price and raise and lower it depending on the numbers. I pay $1 for 20,000 views and I expect a click rate of around .3% (60 clicks). Google would charge me much more. About $5 per hundred clicks.

Hope I helped.
