Question
Hi,
I read all the time about zombie computers.  Is there an absolutely 100% foolproof tool available simply to see if my computer is one of these?  And if so, is there anything that can be done other than re-formatting to clean it out?
Art

Answer
Hi Art.
There is not a 100% tool that checks the computer for zombies, because they may be either well-know spywares/malwares or specific-programs/exploits that may not be detectable. The best way is to keep your computer up to date (virus, anti-spyware) and also install a personal firewall since it will not necessarily detect a tool, but will monitor all the traffic in and out of your computer, so you'll be able to see for example, if your machine is sending out any package (with information of the source, port, destination and program name).
Sygate Personal Firewall is great, but there are other solutions available.
Regards.
Vinny.
