Internet/Network Security - msn security

Expert: Dave Mitch - 10/8/2009

Question
my question is regarding saving msn chat history to my laptops hard drive. is it at all possible for someone to hack into an msn account from another computer and write conversations which would then be saved to my laptop? or can they only be saved to the laptop or computer you're using?

Answer
it is more likely that if someone compromises your msn account - the chat logs would reside on the attackers system. It is also possible tha someone gains access to your laptop (through the internet) while you are logged in. In such a scenario, msn chat logs could reside on your system.
Is there a possibility that someone other than you accesses the laptop ? Then, it is very likely that the chat logs are of that user.
