Internet/Network Security - credit card processing

Expert: Cris DeWitt, CISSP, CTO In-Depth Security - 12/13/2004

Question
Hi-
I have a linux server and currently, when someone purchases something from my web site, I manually send in the slips to the bank for approval.

Is there secure software I can use to automate that system, so there is credit card approval at once?
thanks
coup

Answer
Sure - CCVS (used to come with RH 7 or so) verifies the cards.  Check with your credit card clearinghouse and see if they have a preference.  You'll likely find that they don't as long as it complies with some of the credit card processing profiles.  Also, google "linux credit card processing clearinghouse".

Hope this helps,
cd...

PS, this is pretty far outside my expertise - my craft is in compromising systems of this nature...there's the disclaimer...cd
