Question Ok, I have 2 mixed kids and still my parents have issues with me dating out my race. I am seeing a man that i have been dealing with for 10yrs without my parents knowing. I am 27 but still do not have the courage to tell them. How can i do this and what should i do? I do love him and i know this time we will be together for good.Oh- my kids are not by him so that does make a little diffrence.
Answer Shannon,
Alright, if you decide to tell your parents, first you should sit them down. Or if you don't want it to be so formal heres another option. Go do something with your mother, go shopping, cook a meal anything, and when you feel the time is right(and your calm and ready) you should then tell them. But don't make it to over the top. Explain to them that you really love this man (no matter his race) and if you really didn't love him then you two wouldn't have stuck together so long. Your parents should be able to see that no matter how they feel, your feelings wont change for this man. If you have anymore questions, PLEASE write me back.
