Melissa, sorry but you dont know jack about the sikh or indian culture. His parents are weary. i can see them saying it now: "see that white girl cheated... SHE WILL TOO!". the prob with parents from india is that they are now set in their ways and tend to be stubborn. But Amie's outcast isnt dismal- you need to show that you have his best interest in mind. and I mean really show it. Perhaps the best way is to connect with the parents cause they sure arent going to go out of their way to connect with you. u need to connect with the parents and really understand that the culture is REALLY HEAVY on family. im not gonna lie.. its going to be HARD. you need to have a career, not ust for the parents but for sanity in your marriage- come on now! yall want to get married without any steady income? this is the basic unit of indian culture (and evolution); being the best to survive! but Basically, iF you make the effort and if u truely love him... then it should work out. But if u have serious reservations... then you are just toying with everyone's emotions. best of luck- Bole sonia haal!
