this is my first time on this site but, i really wanted to awnser the article... hope you don't mind. I am a white female, still in high school. I have known Mike (black) since we were in kindergarden together.
we started dating not long ago but ive liked him for years, and hes liked me as well. My mom knows him very well to and says shes glad im with him. but she dosnt want me to fall for him because she believes a white woman would never be welcome in a black family! i know mike's family and this is not true at all........
As for the environment, id have to say it does. almost my entire high school is black, so i mabey have 2 or 3 white friends compared to like 40 to 50 black friends.......so id say it does influence who e date
