About Suyash
Expertise
I can help with interspecies conflict questions regarding carnivorous vertebrate animals. Also I can answer questions regarding ecological role of various mammals. You can also ask me questions about tigers and their current situation in tiger reserves. No questions about domestic animals please. I am only an expert with wild mammals.

Experience
I'm currently studing animal biology. I've been researching 'Interspecies conflict' from a long time. I've read alot of books on wildlife, also I've been visiting a native zoological park from quite a few years to study the behaviour of animals there.

Question
If the Asiatic lions have any chance of being reintroduced into Kunopalpur will they face any problem of interspecies conflict with tiger? do you think the place will be ideal and the project successful?

Answer
Hello Moya,

Well, there would be chances of interspecies conflict between these two cat, and ofcourse the tiger would win. 50 kilograms on average is a big advantage. Do you expect a 130kg tiger to defeat a african lion [181kg] ?

There are some political views related to the projected, I would'nt like to comment on them. The project can be successfull, but there is livestock problem. You can read about the project here,

The place is probably an ideal place because asiatic lions were once found here.

Feel free to ask again.
