About Fady D. Isho
Expertise
I can answer any questions dealing with any factor of interspecies conflcit, this being fighting styles, weaponry, "..." vs "...", animal interaction, food chians, food webs, etc... I can also answer questions regarding mammals, and reptiles. Most particulary those of canines, hyenas, felines, ursids, crocodilians and constrictor and as well as venomous snakes. Although ridiculous questions will not be replied to. Among these animals, these are the ones I can help with the most: Anatomy/physiology Behavior; territorial, mating, hunting, and diet Conservation

Experience
To date, I'm still finishing up high school. Although, I've had experience with animals both in and outside of the field. I've also read about animals (wild) most of my life.

what is stronger for its size and weight
a wolverine or a ratel
a cougar could well kill a wolf but could a leopard do the same thing
a rottweiller vs lynx
a saltwater crocodile vs a tiger shark
a komodo dragon vs dingo
sumatran tiger vs a very large male jaguar
wolverine vs leopard
cheetah vs 2 african hunting or wild dogs
irish wolfhound vs 2 coyote

Answer
Hi, Shane

I'm really not too sure about your first question - it would largely depend on the situation. If a clan of hyenas came too close to the den of a wolf pack they could be attacked and forced to flee. Whereas if say, a wolf pack hand finished killing a prey animal and the hyenas were determined to take the carcass from the wolves I'd say they would probably win. So, the answer is it would depend on the situation.

What is stronger at the same size, a ratel or a wolverine? It's a difficult question, I would say they would probably be somewhat similar; wolverines have been known to drag dead animals five times their weight and honey badgers can tear through steal traps using their powerful claws.

As for your third question, any feline from the leopard up (and cougars are larger than leopards) would defeat any extant canine. The gray wolf is no exception, see, in fact felines are stronger, faster, and overall better armed than a canine of the same size.

I'm afraid I can't answer your rottweiler question or Irish wolfhound questions; I'm not an expert on domesticated animals and no little about them. Hope you understand.

For your Saltwater croc vs Tiger shark, I believe it would depend on where the animals were fighting. In open waters, a croc would be at a disadvantage against the shark with its formidable jaws and teeth. That is, unless the croc was much bigger. In shallow waters a crocodile could take much better account of itself and would have a much easier time handling the shark and I believe it would have the advantage.

Komodo dragon vs Dingo: Komodo, no doubt. I also don't think a dingo would want to get too close; overtime animals have learned to leave alone chemically armed animals alone for their own saftey. This is of course, including venomous snakes.

Sumatran tiger vs Jaguar: at about the same size, a jaguar would be well too much for a tiger. See, jaguars are much larger and stronger than their larger cousins relative to size and a tiger would be at a distinct disadvantage type of match. Of course, no jaguar would stand a chance against a Bengal or Siberian tiger.

Wolverine vs Leopard: I believe the leopard would probably leave the match before anybody got seriously injured. Seeing as how tenacious and aggressive fighters wolverines are, a leopard would be smart enough to not mess with it. Although the leopard is stronger and better armed, it has limited stamina whereas wolverines have been known to fight for hours defending themselves. So in conclusion, there probably wouldn't be much of a fight,

Cheetah vs African wild dog pair: I believe the cheetah would eventually tire and the painted dogs (African wild) would win. Although the cheetah is somewhat larger and has better weaponry, it's also a rather fragile animal and tires quite easily and would be quite suseptable to the strong jaws of the canines.

Best regards,
' Fady
