QUESTION: I have 2 yrs of work experience. Then I got married and moved with my husband to U.S. and was not employed here as I do not have the work permit. My husband and I are now planning to move back to our home country after 2 yrs.I have a employment gap of 2 yrs.....how do I put that in my resume so that my I still considered equally strong candidate and have the same bargaining power as I had 2 yrs back

ANSWER: DIFFICULT TO ANSWER UR QUESTION WITH THE LIMITED INPUTS SENT BY YOU ;HOWEVER I WOULD SUGGEST THE FOLLOWING ..

Tell them the truth about ur USA sabbatical since most employers know about work permit issues in the USA

Tell the panel that you studied during that period

I could advise u better if I knew more about ur career track till date

QUESTION: Thank you for your prompt reply, I appreciate your time and effort. Just to give you a brief background about my career path....I did my MBA in Marketing form Mumbai.Immediately after my post graduation I worked as Sales Executive for 6 months. Then I joined another company as a Market Research Analyst, where in I conducted primary and secondary research, developed research reports, prepared presentations, etc. After I moved to U.S. I have been teaching (voluntary) couple of school students, I also gained some exposure in Indian stock market with my husbands help. Once I move back to India I want to continue my career as a Research Analyst...how do I downplay my employment gap....

Answer
U can highlight to the compnay in INDIA that you worked on a freelance basis on the following :

developing research reports, prepared presentations for school/college students students & MBA grads .U may also indicate that you did some secondary research on the Indian stock market & prepared a paper .
