About Marty McCrea
Expertise
I can answer questions about honing your idea and helping it to become more real in your mind, your research, and within your speaking. My expertise is in answering the large questions that you have into more manageable pieces. I can also assist you in finding the source of the data that you can use to prove and pitch your idea if that's the path that you're on.

Experience
In my opinion, the current way to invent is inherently flawed. Regular people like us normally get “eaten up” by the proverbial sharks in the water. (corporations, invention submission companies, lawyers, etc)

We can not stand for this any longer; you feel this too, yes?

Experience:

I have helped people think and re-think their ideas for years. As a byproduct of talking with hundreds of inventors, there is a new and very revolutionary way to invent that will be available to the world in 2009. Nobel Prize Winner Albert von Szent-Gyorgyi once said that "Discovery consists of seeing what everybody else has seen, and thinking what no one has thought." I agree with this truth with all of my heart. Now let's talk about your question, your passion, and how I can help your idea gain momentum if it is ready.

Inventing New Products/Inventions - conserving water

Expert: Marty McCrea - 10/13/2009

Question
I have an idea to help conserve water and reduce waste in fast food restaurants but absolutely no notion of what to do with it.  I'm looking for advice on what steps to take to make it happen. I'd love if there was a simple competition where I could describe it, sell it, and see it become a part of the future or something along those lines as I'm not an engineer. To be honest, even if I didn't make money on it, it would be really cool to see it make a difference. Your advice will definitely be appreciated -- thank you.

Answer
Laura,

Thanks for writing!  I applaud your altruism, a woman after my own heart.  Now, let's get you to some contests huh!  :)

Ok, first off, what level are you playing at?  Is this just an idea in your head or do you have data supporting your claims of reducing water usage and reducing waste?  What proof do you have?  Videos, white papers complete with data, case studies, in the field testing?  If you do not have these things, try to create them...it will only help

Next do a google earch for innovation contests.  Here are a few that you should check out...

http://challenge.bfi.org/    (BFI is a great content.  I  entered it in 2008...  http://challenge.bfi.org/application_summary/138#)

Ask about patenting with a local patent attorney to see what protection might be available.  Also try to get in with a local restaurant to test your theory and methods, then publish your results in the local paper and national press release sites.

I would be happy to look at the idea and see where it might fit into the larger vision, then connect you to people that might be interested in this type of technology.  Get in touch with me at AltruisticVentures@yahoo.com if you would like to talk deeper.

Best,

Marty McCrea
