AboutMaurice Duteau Expertise As a contract manufacturer, product designer, mechanical engineer, small business owner I know what it takes to get ideas from the drawing board and into production.
Experience My business is located in Shanghai China where I've been doing contract manufacturing for the past 10 years. My experience on the ground in China has given me a good understanding of how things get done over here.
Question QUESTION: i am always thinking of ideas that none has thought of for everyday life things do i have to create a prototype myself and where do i go once i have it ready to be built and tested
ANSWER: I was just talking to a friend about this yesterday. He wants to build a solar powered charger for an Iphone. A quick search on www.alibaba.com shows there are MANY versions out there already. I encouraged him to first learn how to sell somethign similar and then make a decision on whether to spend money on the newer & better version. At least he will have the marketing figured out already.

QUESTION: i have but now what do i do how do i go about getting my design made???? and then patented or whatever you do next????!!!! i have loads of drawings and i have ideas all the time really awesome simple ones but i don't know what to do with them any advice???
Answer Start with the simplest projects, get prototypes made, get feedback from prospective customers, spend money on tooling & production, packaging approvals, marketing... its a long grind.
If you need quotes on making the protos you can send drawings to me and I'll make some suggestions on who/how to go about getting them made. For protecion of your ideas, I suggest rather than patents which are expensive, you just draft up an NDA (non disclosure agreement) which will offer you some level of protection at no cost.
