Question
hi
i have  developed a new application in the field of leather and i want to sell it in international market to a targeted customer ,how can i make sure that my intended customer will keep my secret and does not cheat on me like try to steal and try my ideas on his own instead of buying the ready product from me

Answer
Zeeshan,

Given the international market and the cost of protecting an idea, I don't see how you can protect your idea.  I think your advantage is getting to market first and being a good company to work with.  Try using advantageous costing so your customer is discouraged from doing his own thing.  Is there any tooling cost to keep your competitors out?  I think you have no choice but to trust.  Otherwise you have nothing.  Ideas are the easy part.  The relationship is the hard part.  Try to cement a relationship with your customer so they have less of a need to go elseware.  Maybe you can find a partner who is big in your industry to help you with legal protection so you wont have to foot the bill.
Good luck.

Mark
