Question If you design a car, what would you like to design it as . The shape, requirements, seats, doors. How big it should be that the road traffic is not blocked and also your family should sit comfortably
Answer Hello,
All products are used to perform some task and when that task is performed it satisfies a desire. Tasks can be broken down into observable measurable outcomes. For the product to be accepted by customers it must match all the outcomes required to complete the task.
So you would first decide which task is being performed. There are cars for families, taxis, delivery drivers, police, single people, going fast, being comfortable, there are many tasks. All cars perform some basic tasks such as converting energy to safely move people or cargo from one location to another desired location.
So look at each of the required tasks, add some extras for your specific customer then do a little research and use logic to describe what will be an acceptable car.
A car in the USA must be bigger than one in Asia because the people are bigger. A car in the cities of Europe must be smaller than other places because the roads are narrow.
A car in North or South America or Africa must be able to drive a long distance without refueling because there are large distances between cities.
There are many published statistics on average distances, sizes of people, number of people in a family, available types and costs of fuels. You can use this information to get started. Many places have laws about what can be sold or driven, check the laws for those. After you do all of that you ask real customers what they like. Then start designing. And keep asking customers what they like.
