Inventing New Products/Inventions - Developing my idea for an invention

Expert: Maurice Duteau - 7/8/2009

Question
Hello Sir,
I have 2 separate ideas for inventions which would be for the general public.  However, right now they are only ideas in my head.  I want to move on to the next step and I don't know what that is.  Both ideas would required technological developments and structural development, meaning I know what I want the product to do but I don't know how to build it.  I would like to know what my next step should be? Thanks Sir.

Answer
Its a long grind as I have written on this forum before. This project sounds big so you will probably need investors, in which case you need to prepare a popsectus. Without a track record in this field its  long shot that you'd be able to get much traction. One suggestion is to start off with a small project that you can do with your own funding and grow from there.

Maurice
