Question My pump has been working this spring. I have not run it for about 4 weeks. I was testing the system to go on vacation. The system ran for about 40 min. then the breaker triped. Now every time I restart the system the pump starts, and after about 15 seconds trips breaker.
I have checked the intake, it had lost prime. I reprimed with no luck. I checked footvalve, it seems ok.
Whats steps do you suggest to try next?
Answer Thanks for the question.
A couple things come to mind about your pump. The motor may be burned out. The other possibility is the motor starting circuit inside the motor may have a problem. It isn't an easy item to test, I would suggest taking the pump to a electric motor shop. They can test it quickly.
Wish I could be more help.
