Question as salamu alykom
hi i am comfused i have looked on the internet for information about pictures i think that having a picture of an animal is haram due to a women made a cusion for the prophet (sas) but he rejected it cos it has animals on it? and the angels dont come to ur house if there is a picture of a dog? are these accurate and a picture of worship status or glorification is haram
but is it ok to have a photo of ur husband or ur children or ur family if it is for a remeberance or decoration and not in anyway a worship or glorification or admiration or such
and is it ok for me to have little ornaments .. i am muslim for juz 6 months and in my past i have many hmm fairy ornaments and a have a blanket with a fairy on it they are very pretty and i have them for decoration only and im wondering if it is ok to have these in my house? cos maybe that is associating myself with idol worship or pagans but i have nothing to do with either one
i read also that if we have a picture or a statue then on the end of days we will be asked to breath life into it this really worries me
but some scholars they say it is ok but others say it isnt if u can give me some evidence about family pictures it would be so great
al hamdulillah
Answer WA ALAIKUM ASSALAAM W.B.
Actually, you can go with the concept of the scholars who say it is ok - however, when you are comfortable with doing away with the ornaments/pictures etc, then you should Inshaa Allaah.
