Islam - How to get urinated carpet clean?
Expert: MuslimHood - 11/6/2009
Question Aslam o alaikkum
sometimes if a baby urinates on carpet, then it is quite hard to remove whole carpet and wash it away with water to make it clean (taharat).
what should be done in this case? is it enough to make it dry by some heater or something like this?
Also tell if carpet gets najis with some other kind of "ghalaazat"
then what should be done?
Jazak Allah

Answer Glory be to Allah!
Wa'3laykum assalam warahmatullahe wabarakatuhu!
Kindly read this hadeeth and it would be clear to you, Insha'Allah:
Al-Tirmidhi (610) and Ibn Maajah (525) narrated from ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said concerning the urine of an infant boy: “Sprinkle the urine of a boy and wash the urine of a girl.” Qataadah said: This applies so long as they are not eating food; if they are eating food then it must be washed in both cases. Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.
Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sprinkling means putting water on it without rubbing or squeezing, until it covers the entire area.
In general terms: Just take some water in a tub and a piece of cloth. Damp the cloth then rub on carpet (where there is ghalazaat/nijassah/urine/impurity etc) then squeeze this cloth in tub and make it wet again and likewise clean the carpet until you get satisfaction. It is common and easy way.
Insha'Allah, it would help!
