I don't understand how this verse means masturbation. The verse is very vague. It culd be in regards to rape, sex with someone besides your wife or slave girl not necessarily yourself. I don't undedtand how scholars automatically say masturbation is forbidden? If it was it would be more explicit. No where is there mention of a hand. And this verse talks about a man guarding himself. Men and women bodies and sexual functions are different. There's nothing about a women's act in this situation. So I don't think it's right to automatically tell a girl/women what to do or not to do without correct information. These are all man made theories. And a man doesn't know a women's body. As for the girl asking the question, just know in Islam modesty and moderation is important. In the end, Allah knows best.
