Question
What if elders (uncles and aunties, not parents) of the family are wrong on a particular issue and are purposely abandoning right actions to attain their own worldly interests, are the youngsters in the family to be obedient and respectful when the elders curse and neglect the youth of the family and fail to act fairly and justly???

Answer
Dear Sara,

As Salaam Alaikum!

The Almighty Allah has commanded in the Koran for every Muslim to greet/address another Muslim
with a 'Salaam' whenever they come across each other or write to each other.

Well, if any elders are wrong or unjust in their acts & not agreeing with them on those issues
will not tantamount to any disrespect/disregard towards them.

However, in every other aspects if elders are found to be right then it is expected from all
the youngsters to respect and regard the elders as per Koranic teachings.

May the Almighty Allah have mercy on us to forgive our sins and guide us all to the true path
of Islam as per the Koran for rest of our life.
