As Salaam Alaikum!

Idda period that is ordained in the Koran on the woman is ensure that she is not pregnant and also this idda period acts as a gestation period to rethink the decision on getting divorced.

If you haven't met your husband since 16th November 2102, and there is no possibility of revoking the divorce decision, then

your idda period can be taken as 16th November 2012 in case

if there is any compulsion like getting remarried within next 2 months or so.

In case there is no hurry or getting remarried for the next 4 months, then you better start idda from the day you came to know about divorce from your husband to avoid any kind of guilt

later in your life.

May the Almighty Allah have mercy on us to forgive our sins and guide us all to the true path of Islam as per the Koran for rest of our life.
