As Salaam Alaikum!

Well, if people associate festivities to rakhi religion, then as a Muslim we shouldn't celebrate for sure.

However, in India Diwali or Baisakhi or rakhi are associated with lights, good harvest and brother & sister love/bond that

can be celebrated w/o associating to gods.

However, the most important thing you have to understand is that if you have reverted to Islam, then you should follow

Islam and do not bother about others opinion by not being

disrespectful to others.

Do you think in other religions elders are not being respected

or by not touching feet of elders is disrespecting. These are

formed by us and not by any religion.

May the Almighty Allah have mercy on us to forgive our sins &

guide us all to the true path of Islam as per the Koran for rest of our life.
