Dear Dr. Labib,
  I am a student at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis and researching for my speech on Islam. My question is that I understand that we as Muslims cannot convert to other religions. Why not? I am greatful for your time and response.

Salamu alaikom Fatma, as long as you are going to include my answer in your speech then you should expect the following comment from the nonmuslims;"why should you consider islam as right and the other religions as wrong,why not the opposite?",your reply should focus on the following points:
 1-islam is a religion  that beleives in the presence of God ,beleiving that none is worthy of our worship but Him.
 ask them,is this in the favour of islam 0f islam or against islam?
 all will agree that this is in the favour of islam.
2-islam is the only religion that beleives in and glorifies all the prophets of God since Adam till Muhammad pbut without any discremination. then ask them is this in the favour of islam or against it?all should say it is in the favour of islam.
3-islam is the only religion that beleives in all the revelations given to all the prophets of God without discremination.then ask again"is this in the favour of islam or not?" all unbiased should say:it is in the favour of islam.
4-islam do beleive that we are born to serve God alone{our food is to do the Will of God as mentioned by Jesus in the bible}.is this against islam or in  the favour of islam? te answer should be it is in the favour of islam.
5-in islam we beleive that the only way to win the Garden{"eternal life" as stated by Jesus in the bible}is to keep the commandments of God.is this in the favour of islam or against it? all should confess it is in the favour of islam.

 ask them then "what do you have then against islam?",they will talk about polygamy,slavery,terrorism.
 if you have the answers then it will be okay for your speech but if you do not have right answers then ask me to provide you with a brief headlines.
