Question salam,
I have mixes messages about the islamic beleif in the big bang. Until recently i thought the big bang was related to atheist and i heard ina sura in the quran, it talks about how the earth was put together. I am lost and dont know weather to beleave in it or not? please give the islamic perspective on this if their is any. This is very impportant for me please answer fast
Answer Wa aleikum us salaam,
Zamir, it is best if you can bring the verse of Quran that you think talks about big bang so I can address it.
God says that God created the Earth. It can mean that He create it through a process and this process can be Big Bang. In other words, Big Bang, if it really happened, would have been caused by God. As far as I am concerned, I see no conflict between Big Bang and Islamic point of view that God created the Earth.
However, Quran does not directly talk about how the Earth was created - it just talks about the stages of it's creation and how God fashioned it. That is the most important thing.
I hope this helps.
Best Wishes,
Muhammad Omer Iqbal
