asalam alykum. i hope you can help me. as a muslim i try to follow as much as i can but sometimes i do things that i think are not bad. my question is actually about relationship type question. ive been for now going out with this girl for about a little more than two years now. she is not muslim, she does her own thing when it comes to it. shes catholic. and i have to say i do love her very very much. we have done everything together. i love her. shes my backbone in my life. and i feel like im hers. weve discussed about this with each other and she says that shes fine on what she is and she doesnt care what i do when it comes to religion. im not going to lie, i went to her church and ive bought her to my masjid. do you think this is okay? i feel like as long as we live our lives with no wrong doing will that be okay? and what i left out was that we have a baby on the way. so yeah...but i do know we will be together with ourselves for forever. she has given up so much for me its not even funny. i just dont want to come at her and be like ''oh you have to convert over now''. is it okay if we just live our lives like this aslong as we just live our lives the right way with no wrong doing? thank you very much.

Asalamu aleykum

You must surely be aware that sexual intimacy outside marriage is a very serious sin.  You must end the relationship immediately and repent to Allah.

A Muslim can marry a believing, practicing, Christian or Jew.  If the young woman also repents, you can marry her, providing that she agrees to maintain an Islamic atmosphere in the home and to raise the children Muslim.  If a Muslim marries a pagan, such as a Hindu or Buddhist, or an atheist, he is not really married; such a relationship is fornication, and the children of the relationship have no inheritance rights.

A Muslim may visit a church, if there is a pressing reason for him to do it, but may not pray in it.  Christians pray to Prophet Jesus (pbuh) and to his mother (raa) and some pray to dead saints, as well.  It is not an appropriate place for a Muslim to worship.

What you need to do, right now, is to repent.  The fact that you have written the question indicates that you are ready to set your life straight.  You have to end the haram relationship.  If the girl also repents, and is willing to practice a revealed religion, you may marry her, but consider very carefully whether such a union would result in the kind of stable family life in which you would want for you children and for your own future.

Repentance has three steps: to recognize that you have sinned, to ask Allah to forgive you, to compensate anyone you have injured by sinning, and to make the changes that are necessary for you to avoid repeating the sin.
