Israel - Jerusalem

Question
We have been to Jerusalem several times and love it at the David Citidel(which is our special treat) and this time will bring our adult sons so are looking at staying at somewhere nice but more reasonable. We found The Grand, which has bedrooms but I'm not familiar with that location. Is it considered "East". Also do you know if it faced the Old City?  And second question..can we find anyone to give a walking tour on a .Shabbat afternoon. We are going the first week Of January. Thanks

Answer
The Grand Court is not really in East Jerusalem. If you look on a map, it is just off road # 1, and in Israeli West Jerusalem, by one street. The Olive Tree is next door, but then so is the American Colony hotel( East Jerusalem ). In short, the location is fine, nothing to worry about. We recommend this link to make reservations at this specific hotel - http://www.hotels-in-jerusalem.com/grandcourt/index.htm
