Question
hi
quick question. is ariel sharon still alive? once he went into hospital we didnt hear from him again? also what would say were the high and low points of his career are prime minister?

Answer
Hi Roberto,

Technically and medically speaking, Ariel Sharon is still alive. Throughout his life, he was famous, aside from his military career, as someone who devours his food like a pig. Late in 2005, he suffered a massive heart attack while shoveling his dinner down his throat. He fell into a coma and has been that way ever since.

RE high and low points, as prime minister, he hasn't really had any high points unless you consider fighting for his political life a high point. Not unlike the present prime minister, he, too, was constantly under police investigation for one scandal or another. Although he did host Whitney Houston on her visit to Israel. The low points have been many. I wouldn't know where to begin. Of course the police investigations against him was one low point. In my opinion, the event that was even lower than that was the expulsion of Jews from Gaza and northern Samaria. Approximately 10,000 Jews were thrown out of their homes for the crime of being Jewish. Jews were arrested for demonstrating against the expulsion and some were even arrested for wearing orange, the regional color of the Jews of Gaza. Sharon's legacy lives on today in the form of constant police harassment and persecution of Jews in Judea and Samaria.
