Expert: James Prince Date: 7/15/2008 Subject: Iran and holocaust denial
Question What % of the Iranian population believe the holocaust never happened? Has there ever been a study or survey done in Iran on this issue?
Answer Lorraine, I have never seen any studies. However, it is widely assumed that the vast majority of the Iranian people are not holocaust deniers. The government, led by President Ahmadinajad, have traditionally been more extreme and anti-Semitic. We must remember that during the Shah's time, Israel and Iran were close allies.
