all answers related to auto repair including engine, electrical, suspension and steering; brakes and the air conditioning system. I have owned Isuzu's in the past and have hands on experience Especially with Honda Passports And Rodeo's. Whoever says there is no such thing as a low voltage test, they have serious problems!!!!!!!!High resistance causes a low voltage reading. Which in turn more volts are pushed through. High resistance equals low voltage, low voltage equals high amperage, high amperage will cause high heat. High heat will burn things up!!!!

Experience
I have had at least three years of schooling and over 8 years of automotive experience.

Subject: 93 Isuzu Rodeo - Starting and idle

Question
For the last couple of months it has been difficult sometimes to start my Rodeo.  It fires up but it's as if the gas petal isn't working.  I can eventually get it started by holding the key on and pushing the gas pedal and slowly releasing the clutch.  After it runs for approx 30 mins. I start to hear a faint "click, click, click" and the idle slowly rises to approx. 2,000 rpms and stays there.  Before this started happening I had just had the fuel pump replaced.  I was told by another mechanic to replace the fuel pump relay fuse and that didn't work. I also had the air flow meter checked and it is fine.  The last mechanic said it was the distributor and before I have that replaced I wanted to see if you think that could possibly be it or something else. I'm starting to go crazy and broke over this car.

Answer
Well I would start by checking my starting and charging system India. Just to make sure that your battery cables are in good condition and are not stiff or corroded. I would also check the condition of the fuel sysyem, to see if it was repalced correctly. Alot of fuel pumps are not installed correctly and end up causing alot of idling revving and no-start conditions as well.
