Italian Language/use of: "in famiglia"

Question
Dear Maria,

Would you please tell me if I have correctly translated the following sentence:

Anch’io desidero augurare a te e a tua moglie una serena Pasqua in famiglia.
I also would like to wish you and your wife a peaceful Easter with family.

I am wondering if “in famiglia” is translated as “with family”.

Would it also be possible to use the preposition "con" and  say:

Anch’io desidero augurare a te e a tua moglie una serena Pasqua con famiglia.
I also would like to wish you and your wife a peaceful Easter with family.

Thank you so much.

Once again – I hope you have a very blessed Easter.

Sincerely,

Rich

Answer
Dear Rich,

“I also would like to wish you and your wife a peaceful Easter with family” is a correct translation for  the  sentence “Anch’io desidero augurare a te e a tua moglie una serena Pasqua in famiglia”, where  “in famiglia” translates exactly  as “with family”.

Instead, it would not be possible to use the preposition "con" and  say: “Anch’io desidero augurare a te e a tua moglie una serena Pasqua con famiglia” where “con famiglia”  would be nothing but a literal translation of “with family” which is correct in the English sentence, but absolutely strange in this Italian context.

I’m having a very blessed Easter  and I thank you so much  for your wishes,

Maria
