Question
Dear Maria,

Would you please tell me if I am correct in the following:

[1]  “Che bella idea!”  means “What a good idea!”

[2]  In this expression “che” is being used as an exclamatory adjective.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Rich

Answer
Dear Rich,

“Che bella idea!”  means  exactly “What a good idea!” or “What a great idea!”.
Also, in this expression the word  “che” is being used just as an exclamatory adjective as in e.g. “Che freddo!”, “Che caldo!”, “Che bella giornata!”, etc.

Have a nice day,

Maria
