Question
QUESTION: We are a group of 4 adults driving through France and italy for 6 weeks. We will be driving from Milan to Venice. Can you advise best options re accommodation as we will have a care and not sure how this can be accommodated in Venice?

ANSWER: Dear Jillian,

my warm advise is to not use car in Italy.
Specially from Milano to Venice catch the train which is fast, cheap and doesnt give troubles where to park in Venice (difficult finding a place and very expensive)
Pls find herewith written the link in english where get all infos of trains

PS: car you may possibly use travelling in the south of Italy where there are beautiful landscapes whorthywhile for travelling by car, or in the north visiting the lakes.

QUESTION: Thank you for such a fast response, unfortunately we have already leased a vehicle which we pick up in Paris and leave in Rome.  We are driving to Milan from Nice then to Venice then to florence and leaving the car in Rome.  We ar then taking the trin down South as we drove last year and the road were very narrow and not easy.  We plan to book an apartment near Milan and do daytrips to Lake Como, etc.  I am concerned about how we manage a car in Venice.

again thank you so much for all your assistance and prompt response.

Answer
Dear friend,

there is not to be concerned about parking car in Venice.
When arriving by the bridge highway u will find in Piazza Roma parking available where to leave there yr car and then catch the so called vaporetto (passengers steam boat)and climb out on their many stops where yr hotel is nearby.
Problem about parking may become in the full summer season only.
Problems may only be for yr pockets due the high parking fares.
Other chance which is cheaper clad be to park the car in Mestre about a dozen of kmrs from Venice and from there catch a bus to Venice or the train.
In anycase I wish also to gige to u the flwng web site in english where u may book in advance yr parking
