Subject: munich and italy
Question Hi Lisa...
I am planning a trip to Munich and Italy in august.
we were thinking of driving from Munich to Lake Garda, then from lake Garda to the Dolomite alps and then from Dolomite alps to Venice...i wanted to know how far the distances are between the places and is it a good idea to rent out a car and drive around or flights are a better option...
have two kids 5 and 7 years old, myself and my husband, will be all travelling together.
Thanx so much
Answer Hi Pame,
Munich to Lake Garda is 257 miles (about 4 hours). From Garda to Belluno is 150 miles (2 and a half hours). From Belluno to Venice is 66 miles (1 hour, 15 minutes). Venice back to Munich is a 5-hour drive.
Since you can't use your car in Venice, it will be just sitting there in the parking lot. But it will still be cheaper than flying, especially because you would have to buy plane tickets for 2 kids.
Your best bet is to rent a car through Kemwel at kemwel.com.
Look up "car games" on google and have plenty of snacks and music with headphones for each kid.
Best wishes,
Lisa
