Question
Is it possible to take a train from Madrid to Florence? We would like to fly to Madrid to visit friends before continuing to our vacation in Florence.

Hello,
it is possible of course, but there's no direct train, so it's going to be long and painful..
You can leave at 16.00 from Madrid and arrive in Florence at 12.39 the day after. I attach all the details in a image file.
I do suggest instead to consider a low fare roundtrip flight from Florence to Madrid , here you have some examples, dates are random.
