Question
Dear Eduardo. Arriving at Milano Malpenza Monday Oct.26, I have a short question: Instead of driving the fastest way to Lucca - is there a more scenic possibility?
Thank you.
Best regards Carl

Answer
Hello,
instead of taking the A1, you could take the A7+A12, passing through the Cinque Terre.
It is still motorway of course, but a little bit more panoramic, and you have the chance to stop almost anywhere along the road and exit in one of the famous 5 lands, in example Lerici or Rio Maggiore.
Anyway I do suggest to take the A1 and go straight. In Italy you never know, so it's good to arrive at your own destination as soon as possible and from there make all the daytrips you'd like.
I'd suggest to take the A1 fom Milan and make a stop in Parma where, only few miles from the motorway you may taste some Parmigiano  and Prosciutto (Ham) di Parma. It's a nice stop, it doesn't detour you more than 20 miles and it is enjoyable.

Have fun,
Edoardo
