Question
QUESTION: My wife and I will be flying into the Florence airport on Dec. 8th and will then want to get transportation to a hotel in Siena.  Do you have a suggestion for a good shuttle or car service to use?

Thanks

ANSWER: hello,
from the airport you can take a cab to the station and tthen take a train to Siena and finally a cab again, but I think you'll end up paying almost the same as a more comfortable and faster private tranportation. Prices go from 120 to 190 euro depending on the car. I personally suggest Tours Around Tuscany www.toursaroundtuscany.com they make tours but also personalized airport pick up service.

Have fun,
Edoardo

QUESTION: Thanks for the recommendation on Tours Around Tuscany.  I looked on their website and read about the tours that they offer.  Do you also recommend them for their tours?  Are their guides knowledgeable on the places they take you?  Have you heard from anyone who has take the tour?  If i do take a tour or use them as a car service, what level of tipping is suggested?

Thanks,

Stan

Answer
Hello,
from what I know and what I hear around Tuscany, people are raving about their service, either for the tours and for the transfers.
In Italy tipping is not mandatory or "almost mandatory" like in the States, but of course are well accepted. If you spend a nice day and you think that the service is as great as everyone says, then a 10%/20% is ok.

Have fun,
Edoardo
