Italy - Transportation Livorno Port to Cinque Terre

Expert: territalia - 5/30/2009

Question
We arrive on June 14 about Oceania cruise and want to go to Cinque Terra? We are docked from 0800 to 1800.  How can we economically get there and back in that time frame?

Answer
Dear friend,

to go forth and back livorno.cinqueterre-livorno it's really a next to impossible aim.
The Cinque Terre is a compound of five villages and possibly u cld only reach one of the five villages (next to Livorno wld be Rio Maggiore) renting a car in Livorno and by two hrs having a speed of 130 kmrs hr reach La Spezia and Rio Maggiore. The two hrs r needfull for finding parking in Rio Maggiore too.
Most economical and less stressing cld be to go forth and back by train and herewith I wish to alledge the web site of Italian Railways Time Table in english where u cld find a train forth and back within the 10 hrs u hv at yr disposition.

There u cld also see wether from Riomaggiore u cld visit fastly another village (the five villages are starting frm La Spezia : Riomaggiore,Manarola,Corniglia,Vernazza,Monterosso and the coziest are Manarola and Vernazza)

Warmly recomanding,if there is the chance,to use train and not car.

Rgrds,
