Question
hi, i am coming to italy with my boyfriend on 15th june, arriving at naples
airport. i booked a hotel in amalfi for the first night, another one in positano
for the second night and then we have 2 more nights before we have to leave,
this time from rome airport. we were going to make our way up to rome
somehow and quite like the idea of hiring a car and driving inland to visit
historic villages. how would you recommend getting around and where could
we visit and stay on our way up to rome? thank you!

Answer
Hello,
I do discourage you from hiring a car and driving, especially in the little roads of the Campania, as it is very dangerous and signs are almost zero. Anyway if you would like to take this chance you may move towards the Molise or Abruzzi although this last region has been caught by the earthquake so you may skip it. I'd rather go all the way up to Rome and explore the northern part of Rome, maybe Sperlonga, Viterbo the Lake of Bolsena, all on the SS n 2 the famous Cassia Road.

Have fun,
Edoardo
