Question
DRIVING FROM ROME TO PADOVA , WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHICH WOULD
BE THE BEST HILL TOWNS TO VISIT.  WE HAVE 10 DAYS AND HAVE ALREADY
BEEN TO VENICE AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOMETHING DIFFERENT.  THANKS
AFOR ANY INFORMATION

Answer
Hello,
the best way is taking the old SR 2 and drive from Rome up to Florence, making several stops. In example you could stop to the Bolsena lake for a day, then after slleping by th e lake you could keep going North and stop in Civita di Bagnoregio for a fast visit and then sleep in Saturnia where the termal baths are. From there you can go up, with a little stop in Chiusi and sleep a couple of nights in Siena. Then Florence. Them you go up and stop in Bologna for a night or two. From there you go straigt to Padova.

Have fun,
