Italy - Italy in July/August

Expert: Gabriele Dal Moro - 6/22/2009

Question
I will be flying to Venice from Canada with my two teenagers in late July. We fly home from Paris two weeks later. We have accommodation booked in Venice, Vernazza, Nice and Paris. What else should we do in Italy? We had planned to travel mostly by train but would consider renting a car. What is doable and worth doing between Venice and the Cinque Terre? Should we rent a car and see some Tuscany villages perhaps? Or should we fly to Rome or Florence (Have a feeling the kids would not appreciate Florence). Thank you!

Answer
Your tour is wonderful, your kids should be very happy to get the chance to see the best of Italy and the best part of France. Anyway, thye are kids and maybe only one day in the future they may apreciate it.
As travel agent I would suggest some sights and activities but they would increase your budget and I do not know if you were interested.
The age of your children, your budget for extra activities would be important information to have.
