Italy - Positano to Sicily

Expert: Lisa - 9/7/2009

Question
Hi,  I'm wanting to know how best to travel to Palermo from Positano.

Answer
Hi Sue. The easiest way to go, would be to fly or take a boat from Naples. You can catch a train to Naples from Sorrento (the Cirumsuvia).

Another way to go is to drive, taking the ferry across to Sicily. Here are the directions:

If you want to take the public transportation route, take a bus to Sorrento and the Cicumsuvia train to Naples and a fast train the tip of the boot. You can take a train all the way to Palermo from the mainland. They load the train onto a barge. But the trains in Sicily are slow.

Here is more info on getting to Palermo: www.frommers.com/destinations/palermo/0135020009.html

Best wishes,
Lisa
