Hi Bob,
My dad will be  visiting  Sorrento in Sept and would very much like to visit the town his parents were from- Caposele.  Would like info on transportation from Sorrento to Caposele , also the distance, and if a day trip would be feasible.

Marie, Viamichelin.com says it is 75 miles and will take about 1:43 driving from Sorrento.  I doubt if there is any feasible public transport, but there may be bus service from Salerno. Frankly, I would hire a driver from Sorrento.

Do a search under the name Renato Cuomo--he is a very good private driver based in Sorrento.  You can also rent a car in Sorrento, but one day rentals are expensive.
