Question We have an adorable 4yr old JR. He is the sweetest thing but I notice he is very sensitive. He loves to ride in the car but once in a while we just cannot take him with us and when we come home he totally ignores us and jsut sulks till he gets good and ready to acknowledge us in his own time frame. Is this a natural trait in JR's
Answer It's a natural trait in all dogs -
They are completely connected to us, and have feeling and emotions too! He's sad and angry that you didn't take him with you, but he'll have to learn to live with it because they can't always be with us!
Don't make a big deal of it when you leave (like feeling guilty and saying sorry to him). Also, try to make his time home alone a little more exciting for him; leave him rawhides, toys, a treat filled KONG, etc. When you come home, just act routine, don't coddle and say sorry, etc. He will learn to adjust and be a "big boy" when alone!
