Actually, he broke his nose on stage and had to get it repaired.  He had a second procedure because the first one wasn't done correctly---he had trouble breathing.  This is from J. Randy Taborelli's "Magic and the Madness" book.

Hello I have been studying this man for the last 4 years his life caught my eye I can answer any thing even personal problems but yet some questions are too personal and I really do think Michael will not appreciate me telling people things that are not any ones problem. But otherwise I can answer many oh so many questions. To be clear I have studied his life not just his celebrity image no his entire life.

Experience

I have done research in this area for newspapers and have done it for fan clubs for information for them and I love all music and learned many things about not only Michael Jackson but also other artist.
